Ingredients:

For the Bread:

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 large eggs

1 cup buttermilk

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

For the Cinnamon Swirl:

1/3 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

For the Topping:

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold and cubed

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions:

Preparing the Bread Batter:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together granulated sugar and softened butter until light and fluffy.

Beat in eggs, one at a time, until well incorporated.

Stir in buttermilk until combined.

Gradually add flour and baking soda to the wet ingredients, mixing until smooth and no lumps remain.

Creating the Cinnamon Swirl:

In a small bowl, mix together granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for the cinnamon swirl.

Pour half of the bread batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it out evenly.

Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter in the pan.

Pour the remaining batter over the cinnamon sugar layer.

Top with the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture, using a knife to swirl it gently into the batter.

Making the Topping:

In a small bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, cold cubed butter, and ground cinnamon for the topping.

Use a pastry cutter or fork to blend the ingredients together until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Sprinkle the topping evenly over the batter in the loaf pan.

Baking and Serving:

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Slice and serve the Homemade Amish Cinnamon Bread warm or at room temperature.

Serve and Enjoy:
